Sort products on a page
Sorting the products on a product page can be a time-consuming task. Therefore, we have made this very easy in Afosto by allowing you to make a distinction between products that are important and therefore you want to sort and products that are less important.
When you open a page in Afosto’s dashboard that contains products, the purple “Sort Products” button appears at the top right of the page. There are 3 options for sorting products:
- Automatic sorting
- Manual sorting
- A combination of manual and automatic sorting
Automatic sorting
Products can be automatically presorted based on the following variables.
Name (A-Z)
Name (Z-A)
Price ascending
Price Descending
Oldest Products
Newest Products
Manual Sorting
Determine the order of all products yourself.
A combination of automatic and manual sorting.
Sorting part of the products manually and part of the products automatically.
Working method
Sorting products is found in the following way:
Dashboard > Choose sales channel > Menus > Choose page > Purple button with the text ‘Sort products’ on the top right of the page.
After this, a page appears where there are roughly two main components.
At the top of the page you will find: ‘Products with a position’. These are the products that can be sorted manually. Products which you do not want to sort manually can be removed from this list by clicking on the cross. If you want to start a completely new sorting you can remove the entire sorting with the button ‘Clear sorting’. You can sort the products by dragging them to the right order or give them an automatic sorting.
On the bottom part of the page you will find all ‘Products’. These are all the products that can be found on the page. In this overview you can search by EAN, SKU and name. You can also give this group of products an automatic sorting (e.g. a different sorting from the group of products at the top of the page). Products in this overview can be added to the list of products you want to sort manually. You do this by clicking on the purple plus sign. The product will then appear in the top list where you can drag and drop the products manually.
Splitting the sorting into two groups has many advantages for online shops with thousands of products. This way you can have control over a small part of the products by sorting them manually and the vast majority can be sorted automatically.
